Furever Dachshund Rescue Committees

All of our members joined a specific committee when they became a member of FDR. Not only does being part of a committee allow you to put into practice what you do best but it also opens up many avenues to get to know your fellow rescuers. We are all one team and will accomplish the most by working together for our one common goal of helping abandoned and abused dachshunds!

Application Committee

This committee is responsible for:

  • Contacting individuals regarding their application and continually contacting them throughout the application process through e-mail or calling.
  • Checking Landlord, vet and personal references
  • Making sure that the applicant is aware of any issues or problems with the application.

Social Network Committee

This committee is overseen by the Social Networking Coordinator and will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining FDR's Facebook page and Twitter Account
  • Helping the Webmaster with the monthly newsletter
  • Working with Fundraising Coordinator to post Fundraisers and Events

Intake Committee

This committee is overseen by the Intake Coordinator and will be responsible for:

  • Assisting Intake Coordinator by calling shelters to find out information about dachshunds that need rescue
  • Working with the Chair to see if there is foster space available

Transport Committee

This committee is overseen by the Transport Coordinator and will be responsible for:

  • Receiving transport requests from the Transport Coordinator
  • Routing transports
  • Posting the transports on various yahoo groups and to individuals to locate drivers until transport fills
  • Continually contacting the foster parents and the furever homes to make them aware of the transport progress
  • Updating the Furever Family's application with transport progress
  • Being available on transport day to receive calls and moderate the transport

The Fundraising Committee:

This committee is overseen by the Fundraising Coordinator. The Fundraising Committee's job is not simply to raise money. Instead, the Fundraising Committee is responsible for overseeing the organization's overall fundraising and, in particular, the fundraising done by the board. To accomplish this, the committee's responsibilities include:

  • Establishing on-going fundraisers
  • Gathering items needed for our annual Ebay Auction
  • Selling merchandise on Ebay, Etsy, and at events
