Parker - RI

I just wanted to let you know Parker is doing great. We all love him. He went to the vets for his checkup.

He and Rocko are getting along good. They chase each other around and Rocko isn’t bothered if Parker sits near him. Sally is doing much
better. She just does her own thing and is good as long as Parker isn’t in her face too much.

I can’t get over how good natured Parker is. The only time he barks is when he wants to play. Nothing bothers him. He is doing good with his training. When we are home he does fine and goes out plenty. He can’t do the whole day in his crate yet but goes about 7.5 hours at night. He wakes me up around five am to go out, so he is getting there.

He does good in the car too. He just curls up and sleeps. The first trip to Maine he was nervous in the car but now that he knows he is staying with me he settles right down.  So happy that I chose him!

Putzi - RI

Putzi is now Trixie and she's doing great!  It was a little rough the first week, but now she's doing great. She has a new best friend Travis - he's our 4 yr old part Dachshund. They run around the yard and play wrestling. She"s a wonderful addition to our family and we are grateful to have her!!~Karen

Peanut 3 - IL

‘Peanut’ is now Herman Bennett III, and happily residing lakeside in Belgrade Lakes, Maine. He is doing great! He has run of the house and has already found his favorite spot on the couch, etc. My Dad absolutely loves him and it seems to be very mutual. I've attached a photo of the two and of our camp sign where we honor our Herman's from the past. We can not thank Furever Dachshund enough. The Seniors for Seniors program is a wonderful program for both parties, and we couldn't have been happier to adopt Herman. He is a loving and fun companion for my Dad and we think they’re both the best!
Warm Regards,
Anne-Marie
(on behalf of my Dad, Rusty)

Piper 2

Ellie is so sweet and full of personality. She has adapted into our family very well and our 4 year old Dachshund Cooper absolutely loves having a play mate around. They love going on walks and playing outside, especially at the beach. Ellie is such a smart girl, she will not only let you know what she wants and when but she has also learned to sit, stay and shake! Her favorite hobby is chasing and barking at squirrels! We traveled up to Northern Maine for the Christmas Holidays and she was such a trooper during the long car ride. She loved being around all of our family and playing outside in the snow. She has brought so much joy to our little family, thank you Furever Dachshund Rescue!

Phoenix and Tucker

Well, it has been only two weeks but it feels like they have been here for two months. We are having a lot of fun with them and are making a lot of progress with their housebreaking. Tucker is really coming along way and Phoenix has always been really good. I am sending a picture of them with their new Mom. Phoenix is now sitting on my lap helping me write this email. They both want me to tell you that they miss you very much and cannot thank you enough for getting them their furever home. Mike and Yolanda
