BIO: 
Hello, everyone! My name is Oliver but sometimes my foster family calls me Olly. I am a very active and playful young man and I require lots of attention and activity. I have been waiting 6 months for a family to adopt me and love me forever.  I had a family once but they left me in our apartment and never came back. The nice landlady took me into her house until Furever Dachshund Rescue came and took me to a wonderful foster home where I have lots of friends to play with. You should know that I need to have a playmate and would prefer another young, high-energy pup to wrestle with. Oh, and I forgot to mention that I LOVE toys! Almost any toy or ball will do but I prefer the stuffies because I am a champion de-stuffer. I can tear apart a stuffie in minutes! 
A few facts about me; I will be 2 years old in October, I am neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and  microchipped. I am a Chiweenie, which means that I am a mix of Dachshund and Chihuahua, but it’s pretty obvious that I am mostly dachshund; even my dachshund friends tell me I look like them! Another thing you should know is that I’m not much of a barker. I love to sleep in the “Big Bed” with my humans but I am also crate-trained and don’t mind sleeping on my fluffy bed in my crate. I am house-trained too!  Really, if you think about it, I am the perfect dog for a family with older children, or an active person or couple. As long as I have a playmate to wrestle with… Well, let’s just say that life would be grand!

We encourage adopters from all over Northern California and the Greater New England Area and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $60.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law.
