BIO:

My name is Raleigh and I am a super sweet senior boy. One of my favorite nick names is Raleigh Rocket because I am fast! I wanted to go downstairs one day and the minute my foster mom opened the door I took off like a Rocket! My foster mom was not too happy with me and she scolded me but the name stuck and I think it’s awesome!

So I came from South Carolina because my owner kicked me out of the house and told the neighbors who found me that he was hoping I would just disappear. I was really confused but the neighbors were really nice to me and made sure that I got into a rescue where they could take good care of me. I had severe dental disease which caused an abscess to form in my check. I also tested Positive for Heart Worms. My foster mom had me placed on antibiotics immediately so the infection in my mouth would go away and then had my dental completed. Boy was it complete because I lost every single tooth in my mouth. The doctor said that he could have left behind one tooth but that eventually it would have needed to be taken out so why wait. I guess I agreed because he took it!

After my dental was completed I was put on antibiotics again to prepare for my Heart Worm treatments. Those were really tough and I cried the first day after my first treatment because I was sore. The last two treatments were easier and I made a full recovery. My foster mom made sure I got the best and tastiest soft food available and she got some weight on me. I was really skinny and my foster mommy was scared that I was too thin. She would call me “emaciated” sometimes but I don’t know what that means? I love my food and now my entire foster family takes turns feeding me from a spoon. Of course I can eat all by myself but my foster mom says it takes furever and she feels badly that I have to work so hard to get food in my mouth.

A few more things about me: I love playing with puppies and tackling dogs much bigger than me. I may be one of the oldest in my house but I definitely keep those younger pups on their toes! I love eating canned food because I have no teeth but that doesn’t stop me from gnawing on hard treats. I love snuggling under the covers super close so you know just how much I love you. My foster mom says I am proficient at being adorable and has no idea why anyone wouldn’t want me. I am VERY spoiled. If you think that you could handle the whole spoiling me “thing” than I would be happy to consider your adoption application. Thanks for checking me out!
