BIO:

Coal is a young boy who was found in a trash dumpster in Olinger, VA.  Olinger is a small town in the middle of the South Western, Virginia coal county hence the name of Coal. A wonderful rescue person ensured he was taken to local vets for immediate care. He was emaciated, running a fever and his toes nails curved around digging into his toe pads. The small local rescue, In His Hands, needed a dachshund rescue group to step up and help Coal and asked a Virginia member of FurEver Dachshund Rescue for help. Naturally FDR was there for Coal.

Cole is recovering and is currently in Big Stone Gap, VA with a temporary foster until he is healthy enough to be relocates to his FDR Foster Home in Fredericksburg, VA.

When Cole is ready, he will need a furever home.  Can you offer him a home he deserves?  If so, please fill out an adoption application for him today!

We encourage adopters from all over the United States and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $40.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law.
