I wish I had an Oscar Mayer Wiener! Well now you can! Hi, Im Oscar! I’m a mini dachshund but with my little size comes a huge personality. I have had a bad past with my short life so far. I came to a shelter with some sort of burns and scabs all over my head, ears and spots on my back. The nice people at Furever Dachshund Rescue came and saved me. Now, I am living the life at my foster home. My scabs are completely healed and my fur is starting to grow back. I get along with kids and other dogs, but I do need my space when eating and napping. I have some food aggression that my foster mom is working on me with. I do well on a leash and in a fenced yard but I still like to mark my territory. I am learning really quick not to mark in my foster mommy’s house. I absolutely love to cuddle and be held. Belly rubs and back scratches are like Heaven to me. I will need a home with someone familiar with dachshunds. I can snap at people out of fear since I didn’t have a good past. I just need some tlc and someone that will spoil me. I need someone to show me that I can trust people again and that not everyone is mean to me.  Can you give me a furever home?  Please fill out an adoption application today!

We encourage adopters from all over the United States and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $40.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law.
