BIO:

This handsome little guy is just as easy-going as can be. He loves people, especially children. He does well with other dogs although he might have a little bit of a Napoleon problem at first. Just be careful with bigger dogs until you know Scooter understands they are friends. Scooter did show food aggression when he first came to me but does very well now and will eat with anyone who will let him. He’s very talented and can balance on his hind legs anywhere, i.e. the arm of the couch so he can reach the birds in their cage. He is very curious of everything. It took me almost a week to get him to stop obsessing about the birds and trying to climb their cage and eat them. Now he just ignores them, thank goodness, but I still would never trust him alone with small animals. He is very smart and easy to train because he’s very eager to please. He may not be a puppy, but he sure acts like one! Scooter is very energetic and playful. His ideal home would be a home with children to love him and maybe another dog to play with.  Can you give Scooter a furever home?

We encourage adopters from all over the United States and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $40.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law.
