If you have an empty lap, I am the dog for you!
Hi. My name is Katie. I am a chocolate and tan dachshund mix. 12 lbs and about 6 years young.
I was rescued from a shelter after my previous owner just abandoned me there. He had made me live outside and fend for myself even though I am just a little bitty thing. I was very scared and was so happy to get out of there!
At first I was fearful of my foster dad and other men but I have come a long way and now I love my foster dad tons!
I love to curl up on a lap and sleep and love it even more if you will rub my head or scratch behind my ears. I don’t mind sharing your lap with 4 legged brothers or sisters (once we have adjusted to each other).
I also love to go for walks and my foster mom says I am a good leash walker now that I am used to it. I love to play in the back yard and enjoy trips to the dog park.
I love sleeping in the big bed. I am good in the crate when my foster mom and dad are at work. I don’t bark a lot or chew stuff and I do all my “business” in the back yard. My foster mom says I’m the BEST!
Even though I love my foster mom and dad, I really would love my very own furever home. Please could you make that happen.
We encourage adopters from all over the United States and will do our absolute best to accommodate you in arranging for transportation if you choose to adopt a dachshund from FDR. If your dachshund of choice is coming from a state other than the one you reside in, there will be an additional $40.00 Health Certificate Fee that is required by law. Thank you for supporting a dachshund in need.
If you would like additional information or have any questions, please feel free to contact the foster family directly. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
