BIO:

Oscar is a new foster that came to us from a shelter in the south. We are not sure why he was surrendered to the shelter but we suspect that he has shown some issues with aggression. We do know that Oscar cannot be kept in a crate and that crate aggression is a problem. This seems to be his only behavioral problem and since he has been in foster care he has not shown any aggressive tendencies.

Oscar loves to play with his foster brothers and sisters and is not fazed by larger dogs. He is a high energy dachshund that will need to be placed in a home that can give him the exercise he needs to tire out. Without proper exercise he will become bored which may factor into his aggressive tendency. Oscar needs to be in a home with a dominant person who has experience with dachshunds and dogs in general. He needs a pack leader to show him who is boss at all times and will quickly lose respect for a weak personality.

Oscar will make a fantastic companion for an experienced dachshund owner and would do just fine with a playmate. In fact, another dog in the household to play with would be a great thing for Oscar. He is a handsome boy with beautiful dark eyes and wonderful expressions. He loves to sleep in the Big Bed and will promptly burrow under the covers and sleep soundly all night long curled up next to you. I love Oscar’s strong personality and have had no issues at all with aggression. If you are a strong personality with breed specific experience and are looking for a great companion please apply to adopt Oscar.
